The Montecarlo showing is located on a ridge separating Redbed and Heather creeks, approximately 1.7 kilometres south west of Heather Lake.

The area is underlain by basaltic volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation (Vancouver Group) and sedimentary rocks of the Cretaceous Nanaimo Group which have been intruded by diorite of the Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite.

Locally, a 20 to 25 centimetre wide quartz vein containing significant quantities of chalcopyrite was traced in a steep road cut for about 10 metres. The vein disappeared beneath overburden. A chip sample of mineralized vein material yielded values of 3,758 parts per million copper and 1.3 parts per million silver (Assessment Report 21494).

In 1991 by Wellington-Young Resources Inc. completed a program soil, rock and silt sampling and geological mapping.
